After 10+ years in the workforce (with paths crossing in the recruiting field for a local Fortune 200 company) and two kids each, we teamed up to pursue the lofty goal of doing meaningful work that allowed enough leeway to tend to and enjoy our families. We also believed we could help others achieve the same. After many conversations with smart women, it was obvious that we were not alone in our quest for 'balance'. (Turns out as it pertains to life, there is no such thing as ‘balance’, but we’ve found that there are ways to fit into life what matters.) With a good idea and enough know-how to get it done, we jumped right into helping others find work that worked for them, and in 2007, Momentum Resources was born.
Through the years Momentum has been recognized locally and nationally for connecting job seekers with work opportunities that allow them to contribute successfully to the workforce while having enough time (and sanity) to enjoy their life outside of work. It’s been amazing to see the shift that has taken place since 2007. This may surprise you, but work/life balance was not a hot topic back then in RVA. We were pioneers on this topic and some of the first in the area to connect the dots about the value of flexibility for employees and companies.
Our team has worked with businesses to hire great talent and to leverage flexibility as a business solution. We have also coached job seekers on how to jump-start their job search, transition back into the workforce, prepare for an interview, negotiate for flexibility, be ready to say yes to the right opportunity, and MUCH more. Momentum has placed many great candidates in many great companies while educating job seekers and companies along the way. From this experience, we bring insight and perspective to our one-on-one consulting services, group workshops, and speaking engagements.
We’ve built a strong company by advocating for flexibility and connecting people to job opportunities, but that has always only been the tip of the iceberg. Our underlying services of advocating, promoting, connecting, coaching, planning, and educating is the true value of what we offer. Eight years into this gig, we have learned a lot that we want to share more widely than through our core/traditional staffing services. We know we can have a greater impact teaching more people to fish. With our experience, we are motivated to bring the 'how to' to your ____.
Our little ones are not so little anymore, but we are more motivated than ever in the pursuit of a gratifying (and flexible) career and a happy life.
We look forward to working with you!
We knew there could be a better way to make work, work for ourselves and others.
